WORSHIP (FAMILY SEMINAR)

Purpose: to define what historic, biblical reformed corporate worship is/accomplishes, demonstrate that it is capable of meeting the challenges faced by younger generations today, and encourage those who are raising young ones to continue the church’s liturgies in their homes.

Thesis: Worship is the regulative practice of ascribing God the glory due His name (Psalm 29:1-2). Worship is primarily about and for God, but its liturgies, repetition, and elements conform us to the image of the Son as they immerse us in the gospel story every week. The corporate worship event is the primary means of discipleship and God's distinctive primary communion with His people. Through it, the saints are edified, equipped, and sent to do ministry in the world and in the home. The liturgies of corporate worship that glorify God through exalting the gospel can and should also be present in the home.
