About Us

Our Beliefs

Salem Baptist uses two statements of Faith that reflect those beliefs held by the congregation. The first is a statement of generally held convictions by Southern Baptists called The Baptist Faith and Message 2000. The second is an older Baptist confession of faith called The New Hampshire Confession. They serves as guides to understanding who Salem Baptist is.

OUR CORE VALUES:

1. Gospel-Centered

All of our teaching and practice centers on God's inerrant and sufficient Word, which has Christ and His gospel as its centerpiece.
(Luke 24:25–27; John 20:30–31; Acts 2:14–36; Rom 1:16–17; 1 Cor 2:1–2; 15:3–4; Heb 1:1–4).

2. Discipleship (In-Reach)

Disciples of Jesus encourage other disciples to pursue Jesus with their whole being in every season of life. We encourage one another to fight sin and put on Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Psalm 119:11; Prov 27:17; Matt 18:10–20; Luke 9:23–24; John 8:31–38; Rom 13:12–14; Eph 4:17–24; 6:10–13; Col 1:28–29; 3:1–17; Heb 3:12–14; 5:11–6:6).

3. Evangelism and Missions (Outreach)

Disciples of Christ, equipped with His Word, honor the Great Commission by proclaiming the gospel in our own city, state, and country as well as unreached places around the world.
(Matt 9:36–38; Matt 28:18–20; Rom 10:14–15; 2 Cor 5:20; 2 Tim 4:1–5; 1 Pet 3:15; cf. Rom 9:1–3; 1 Cor 9:19–23).

4. Community

Christians do life together, not in our own individual cliques, but as a unified body. We embrace the opportunities and blessings of being a multi-generational church who fellowships together across generational or other cultural barriers.
(Psalm 16:3; 133:1–3; John 17:11; Gal 3:28–29; Eph 2:11–22; 4:1–16, 25–32; Titus 2:1–5).
