What are the first few verses about? Describe the Psalmist's emotional state.

Do you feel like you can relate to how the psalmist feels, longing for God? What circumstance typically make you long for God? 

Think of a time that you have been extremely thirsty. What did it feel like when you finally got something to drink?

Does the Psalmist feel close to God? Why or why not? 

When have you felt close to God? When have you felt far away from God?
